The City’s own Branded Mobile Reporting App
We have piloted The City’s own Mobile Reporting App, empowered by ThunderMaps to assist and enable eThekwini Municipality to take advantage of the massive growth in the use of cellphones in the province. But this time “ThunderMaps Apps” would help strengthening eThekwini’s strategic objective of good governance to allow for easy and direct communication with the municipality, increasing engagement on matters that affect citizens and enable effective and relevant service delivery. The Citizen Engagement App will be made available for the municipality to be downloaded by the municipality officials in Google Play & Apple iStores, during the Pilot phase. The user registers upon logging in for the first time using any make of a smart phone running iOS or Android OS, selecting a personalised password for individual access. The App is aimed at assisting the municipality to bridge the gap with the Local Government, allowing for instant and more relevant communication in any report that needs immediate attention.
